Hi! I'm planning to move to a new apartment and I'm trying to figure out how much it will cost me. I saw an average moving cost calculator on the National Movers website, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I'm planning to move from the 3rd to the 7th floor without an elevator, a bunch of boxes, a couch, a refrigerator, etc. Has anyone used this calculator yet? How much did you end up paying? I don't want to end up with additional hidden costs at the end.

I had a similar situation - we were moving from Kharkov to Kyiv and were also looking for a calculator to estimate the costs. In fact, the calculator the national movers is very convenient, but it is important to enter all the data correctly so that it gives the most accurate calculation. My experience with it was quite successful, although I still did not take into account a couple of nuances at the beginning. When I filled out the form, you can select not only the floors and the presence of an elevator, but also indicate how many large items, boxes and even non-standard furniture (like a piano, if you have one). I indicated that we had standard items: 2 sofas, several chairs, a refrigerator and a couple of large boxes. The guys from the company quickly confirmed the calculation, which was almost exactly like in the calculator, but I was still a little worried. It turned out that the main cost coincided with what I saw on the site, but there were some small expenses on site that the calculator did not warn about. For example, if you have a narrow entryway or too many things to move on site, you may have to pay a little extra. In our case, it was an extra 500 UAH, as we had to spend more time lifting furniture due to the limited space in the entryway. Overall, I can say that the calculator is a great reference point for planning. It gives you an understanding of the basic costs, but it is always good to leave a small cushion for unforeseen situations.

I also think that the calculator on National Movers is a good start. I used it a couple of months ago when moving to a new office. However, for us it was a completely different type of move - less stuff, but a lot of equipment
